Yesterday was my first day back at work. It was great to see most of the girls I work with. These girls are all so different it's amazing that they all are so good with the children in their own way. Yesterday was a day for training, which seems odd, but we go through it every year. Each year is different, not all are helpful, but they are a time to get back into the grove of things.
The boys loved their day at the ranch. From what they told me they rode horse pretty much all day. They all fell asleep the moment we put them to bed. This whole week should be exhausting for them. We will all need a vacation when it's done.

Ups And Downs
We have had too many things going on lately for me to figure out what to write about.
I will be returning to work this week. I am looking forward to it, even though a babysitter is needed for the first 2 weeks.
My cousin is going to watch them during this time. The boys are going to have a blast at the horse ranch. Usually she comes to our house to watch them, but this time, my traveling for work will take me right past there, so now they get to experience the farm life.
I grew up on a horse ranch for the first part of my life. Though then was different than now. I don't remember taking care of the horses, except when we wanted to help or we wanted to ride. I remember my dad, grandpa and uncles taking care of everything horse related. They were all a lot younger then and were able to all get along. Lately their bodies are able to do all the work and they all seem to argue a lot more. My 2 cousins that still live out there are 17 and 13. These 2 do everything that is asked of them without much fuss. The work that these 2 do would put quit a few people I know to shame. Now on top of it all they are taking on 3 boys for the week.
Our lives here have been packed full of ups and downs from the beginning and they have shown no sign of ending. We have a few new chapters in our lives that will be starting soon. We are both excited and a little scared, but we know that we have each other and can gt through them with a smile on our face and very little pain. These new chapters may all have something positive come out of them, but we may be the only ones to see them right now.

Phone Calls
The boys and I have been cleaning the house again. The problem with summer is that we don't clean everyday, we enjoy our time together and forget the cleaning till it piles up on us. So yesterday began the cleaning of the house.
I got the computer area done. This is the worst part in the house, but the smallest. This area was set up for just me. It is just a corner of the livingroom that I have everything I need for school, but now it has become an area to share. Mark's uncle just gave us a desktop computer for the kids. It has tons of games on it from when his daugters were younger, and now that they are older he gave it to the boys. I just got it set up yesterday and they already love it. I'm greatful they won't need to use mine for their games.
I also took the boys with me grocery shopping yesterday. We had our cart so full that things kept falling out every time we turned a corner. Some days I love taking them with me and some days I don't, but yesterday was a good day. They all listened very well, and their weren't too many "I wants".
This was all till my brother called. I told them that it was Uncle and that I needed to talk to him so they needed to hang onto the cart and please be quiet. No sooner did I say Hello and they decided to have a race up and down the isle, and scream as loud as they could. I don't know what it is lately, but every time I answer a phone call they start yelling, screaming, fighting or need me. I can get a text or read my emails and they don't do this, it is only when I answer a phone call. After that I am searching for ways to teach them to be respectful to those on the phone. I haven't found anything yet, but I will let you know when I do.
No one is perfect - that's why pencils have erasers.

The Lazy Days Of Summer
It is now August and time to get the boys and I ready to go back to school.
My classes start August 22. I only took 3 classes again this semester. It seem to work out great that I didn't have the workload of a full class load, and my family really loved it too. Mark and the boys got to see me more and they didn't have to clean the house all the time. I was able to spend my weekends with the family instead of homework all weekend (Mark was still on second shift then so our weekends were very special). My mom and my sister really loved it, cause that meant that they weren't here every night watching kids.
Xavier is getting very excited about starting middle school this year and I'm afraid of losing my baby. We are so proud of him. He struggles with ADD and has a very hard time concentrating on the teacher for very long. He works so hard to stay focused and learn everything he can. His third grade teacher once told me that if we could turn everything into "army", he would have no problem learning any of it.
We have been slacking on doing any of our projects, due to the fact that it has now become the lazy part of summer. We all remember these days from when we were kids. The days that just seem to drag on with no end in sight. Days filled with sprinklers, swimming pools, ice cream, bikes, lemonade and our friends outside. I love these days!! This is the first summer in a long time that I had days like these, usually I always skip these by school shopping, and getting everyone ready for September 1. This year I decided to enjoy them with my children. I have never felt so relaxed and rejuvenated though I think I need to start carrying the camera with me more.
I think today we will pick up the house (I finally gave up control and let the kids help me, it may not get done the way I want, but it gets done without me stressing), I was also planning on taking the kids to the thrift stores in town and looking for some things to CREATE with. I have planned so many projects for them, but I think today I will let them decide on what to make (plus I need cookie cutters for the watermelon and jello, since all I have is Christmas ones).
I have decided not to post a project today, just a suggestion:
Go outside with your children
Give everyone a push-up (ice cream cone)
Sit in a circle on the grass
Talk with your children, sing songs, it doesn't matter just talk (silence is not allowed)
Don't stress about anyone getting messy cause after jump in the sprinkler (or just a hose or buckets of water work)
Enjoy as much of these days with your children because next August they will be another year older and not the same as they are today. Cause in a few years they will be to busy to spend time with you.
Remember your lazy summer days and bring out that kid again (I'm sure your children will love the new friend to play with)!
If you don't have kids, sit back and just enjoy a tall glass of lemonade for now.
